Nestled in the heart of Bentonville, this home was completed in June 2016. The home was designed locally by Thomas Merritt with the Sanders’ serving as their own contractors.
Visitors to the home are welcomed by an 1830s front door, which came from a northern St. Louis home. An interior door separating the kitchen from the master suite is an 1850s door from a St. Louis rectory.
In designing the home, the family focused on bringing natural light inside. In that same spirit, home décor is light and simple. The upstairs features a second master bedroom currently occupied by the couple’s daughter, but meant to be a space that could be utilized in case a parent or friend needed a place to stay.
The family’s hope for their home is that it would be a place to welcome friends, family, and neighbors, whether hosting a community group, a large party, or enjoying a quiet visit with a neighbor. A favorite spot for family and entertaining is the covered patio in the backyard – they really enjoy sharing their love for downtown living with others!
