Crystal Butler was born and raised in Murfreesboro, AR, the home of North America’s only public diamond mine, where she developed a love for people, service, sunshine and good food. She moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1998 to attend the University of Arkansas. While volunteered with various organizations through her service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega and was very active in the university’s programming board and the booster club. She graduated with a B.A. in English and Communication.
After college, Crystal worked as an assistant at the University Bookstore until she was recruited by Walmart, Inc. She worked at Walmart for 15 years in various roles in merchandising, replenishment, and Ethics and Compliance. She joined the Junior League of Northwest Arkansas in 2011 when a friend suggested she would be a good fit. She has vice chaired the cookbook committee, vice chaired and chaired the Serve Our Shelters (Now VAC) committee, served as a new member trainer and a member of the nominating committee. She is also a member of the planning committee for EOA Children’s House’s Summer Salsa fundraiser.
Crystal loves to write fiction, go to concerts, and travel to new places (and some old favorites as well). She currently resides in Springdale, AR with her husband Charlie and her two rescue dogs, Alexander McQueen and Marchesa.
