Melissa Steeves lives with her husband David and their two daughters in Centerton. When not serving the League, Melissa can be found running, racing or training for a triathlon, or running her daughter Alivia around to swimming, gymnastics or different Girl Scout activities.
Melissa grew up in California and lived there until her move to NWA. She is a graduate of Arkansas Tech University with a degree in Management/Marketing and Economics/Finance. She also has her Masters of Business Administration degree in Leadership and Ethics. She works in the Adult and Youth Bedding Department as a Senior Planner 2 for Walmart Stores, Inc. Melissa is very involved with the Women of Merchandising at Walmart and sits on the leadership team.
Melissa joined the league in 2009 and quickly jumped right in. She served on Public Awareness, then moved into leadership as the Cookbook Chair. She also served on the Internal Communications Committee and as a New Member Trainer, Mission Marketing Chair and Activities and Arrangements chair. Last year she started her first year as a Board Member and learned so much about the inner workings of the league.
Melissa is involved with her daughter’s school and attends almost every school function. She is involved with her alma mater’s alumni group, Arkansas Tech University, where she has previously served on the Alumni Board. She volunteers with her triathlon team at local races and also teachers her daughter’s Sunday school class at church. She also supports many local non-profits and enjoys attending local fundraisers.
Melissa is a domestic violence survivor and is passionate about our focus area. She hopes that the Junior League of Northwest Arkansas can help stop the cycle.
