Purple for a Purpose 5k
The 3rd annual Purple for a Purpose 5K and Fun Run is a running event set for Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Arvest Ballpark, Springdale, AR.
Its purpose is raising awareness around the issue of domestic violence here in our community.
The chip-timed race will start at 8:00 A.M. at Arvest Ballpark in the northwest area of its parking lot with the Fun Run/Walk to follow at 8:05 A.M. The race is handicap and stroller accessible.
Not interested in running 3.2 miles? In addition to the 5K, this year’s event will include a 1 mile Fun Run/Walk perfect for kids and those who prefer a slower pace. Out of town on Race Day? Work nights? Or just enjoy your sleep? We also have a Sleep In for a Purpose option as well!
We ask for your support because it is our hope for our community as a whole to band together and make the statement that we will not tolerate domestic violence and ongoing abuse. This event was designed to kick off October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month for the region with the goals of educating the public what domestic violence is and that it does not discriminate within any demographics. Just as the JLNWA empowers the women within our League, we want to empower the public and domestic violence victims to take a stand.
